Complex bouquet of fruitcake, cedar, cocoa and a perfumed whiff of dried lavender. Broad, fleshy and succulent with all of that the nose promises being delivered on the palate. Spice sprinkled cedar with rich dark fruitcake flavour. Wonderfully soft, rounded and silky palate that shows cohesion and refinement. Impressive density and concentration that doesn’t overwhelm. Nor does the oak used in the maturation of this impressive blend. Plush, comfortable and eminently rewarding with a lingering dry tail.

Vigorous fine bead with green apple, lemon, yeast and fresh sea breeze aromas. The palate echoes those aromatic notes with its crisp lemon freshness and green apple vibrance that is brushed with grapefruit and citrus zest. A gentle, creamier biscuit and toast note then develops. Elegant and well structured with good fruit, acidity and lees harmony. The finish is long, dry and crisply detailed.

This wine presents with bold, almost audacious spiciness coupled with blueberry and plum compote aromatics. The palate is similarly expressive and appealing with its vibrant spiciness. The same ripe, rich and plush plum and blueberry fruit flavours are also immediately apparent on the palate. This wine’s texture is pliable, supple and approachable but with good underpinning of well-knit oak that frames the

Peppery spice, blue and black fruit with additional allure of a brush of dried herb and fynbos on the nose. Corduroy softness and mouthfeel is apparent on entry. That texture grows, as does the fruit intensity, into a fantail of flavour, ripe plum, blueberry and a hint of licorice and herbs. Buttressing that ripeness is the structure lent by well integrated oak and a sinewy muscularity and leashed power. Good frame and harmony – nothing is dominant. Long, rich tail with spice and fynbos on the end.
