Again oatmeal and nutty flavours are apparent but not overwhelming. e wine is powerful but refined and structured. Nothing is superfluous and its perfectly proportioned with a long tail of flavour that ends with a delightfully pithy citrus twist. Will reward patient cellaring.
Complex nose of fynbos, nettles and buchu. Distinctly herbaceous but not overpoweringly so; it’s tempered by a twist of citrus zest with grapefruit being most prominent. The palate is zingy and alive in a thrilling way; zippy, lively, fresh with vivid grapefruit flavour but then a more considered leesy, citrus pith element is ushered in. The wine then becomes more serious and structured but remains beautifully etched and finely delineated. Complex and engaging with acidity, fruit and lees in perfect harmony. There is a touch of beeswax on the long tail which hints at greater complexity to come – given time. A wine that is good now but which will reward patience and careful cellaring.

The first impression is of kumquat or orange marmalade complemented by sumptuous vanilla. This wine presents a textured mouthful which is serious, refined, poised and rich. The restraint in both oaking and fruit ripeness is impressive and delivers great overall harmony. Delightfully long finish which lingers long after the wine is gone.

Beautiful integration of oak makes for a long, layered but sophisticated wine.
